My top 4 choices of the TikTok trend
If you know me really well, you know that I’m very patriotic. And I don’t use the term loosely. Even if I had the chance to work outside of the country, I still choose to stay and work here.
I support many Filipino brands and I won’t replace Filipino artists like Regine Velasquez and Leah Salonga with any international stars. Their works are etched in my heart.
So when I encountered this TikTok trend “Piliin Mo Ang Pilipinas” I fell in love with the melody and the lyrics.
The song was performed by Angeline Quinto and Vince Bueno, and was written by Robert Labayen ( the same guy who composed the ABS-CBN station ID Bro, Star ng Pasko). The song Piliin Mo ang Pilipinas was launched more than 12 years ago in time for National Heroes Day, and now it’s gaining massive airplay because of social media
As someone who bleeds Pilipinas , this trend hit me right in the feels. It talks about our stunning archipelago, the warmth of our people, and the joy that comes with being Filipino. Seriously, if you haven’t heard it yet, you gotta check it out – it’ll make you want to shout “Pilipinas!” from the rooftops.
Here’s the video:
Now, this song has been used on TikTok to showcase the exceptional transition skills of creative content creators after the Asoka trend fizzled out.
I truly admire the effort and dedication of those who participated. I know they did it for the views and clout but still, it’s not easy to come up with such. Also, it doesn’t just take time and effort but money, sweat, and tears. So, kudos to everyone! Here’s my top 4
4. Shaha Meta
@shahameta
Her version currently has 2.8 million views. I liked hers because she was able to showcase both the Luzon and Mindanao fashion in such a colorful and dazzling manner coupled with her impeccable makeup! The costumes she chose were mesmerizing! Just see for yourself

4. Bea Borres
@beaborres
Looking at Bea, you just couldn’t deny that she is the epitome of a Filipina. Her beauty radiates even more when she wore that golden terno in her video.
However, there are just some transitions that could’ve been done better.

2. Whamos Cruz
@whamoscruzz
What can I say? Oh my goodness! I didn’t even realize I would be mentioning Whamos in any of my content. I just find him so ridiculous.
But this guy is an epic storyteller!
His video, which now has 6.1 million views ( A few minutes ago it was just at 5.9 million! is totally different from the girl’s version which mostly are just transitions and makeup. His version displayed the state of living of Filipinos in the C and D classes. There’s also the comedic aspect which is his signature. I was floored by his rendition and now he has my respect.

And my number one!
- Jomar Loven @jomarlovenaa

If I was floored by Whamos’ rendition, I have no words for Jomar’s. I loved it so much that I shed a few tears. his delivery of the song depicting the sacrifice of our heroes was so heartwarming.
The style is very cinematic and dramatic I just couldn’t stop myself from watching it over and over. no wonder his video as of the moment already has a whopping 23.8 million views!

So there you have it, my top 4 Piliin Mo Ang Pilipinas TikTok trend. Huy, piliin mo rin ang Pilipinas!
