“Eat, Enjoy, and Leave No Trace”

The concept of clean-as-you-go is only known to people who work in the food industry and other industries where sanitation and cleanliness matter a lot. For us who have been in this industry for many years, it has become innate and ingrained in our DNA. The hallmark of somebody’s “malasakit” can be manifested through their ability to display this even if they’re not on shift. I vividly remember Tito Jun discussing this at a leadership conference. And since then, I have never failed to pass on this culture to partners in training.
But even if I’m no longer a part of the company, it’s still embedded in me, and I also taught my kids the value of doing this consistently.
When the coronavirus pandemic spread in 2020, it has become more paramount to practice CLAYGO. Customers who use the cutleries could have the virus, and the risk of spreading it is high. Even if disposable utensils were utilized then, taking care of your trash has become mandatory.
And now that we’re transitioning back to “normal,” and the use of actual plates and utensils has been reinstated, it’s even more critical that we take care of our “pinagkainan.”
That’s why it really irks me to see people leaving their tables unkempt and like a tornado went through them. Yung iba talagang magkakalat pa. Tearing paper napkins in small pieces. (Why would you effin do that?). Tapos liliparin ng hangin. Some would ignore the spills and let the coffee stain the carpet or the wall. Guys, you don’t even have to clean it. You can call the staff so it can be taken care of and not become a permanent stain.
In this video I shot for awareness purposes, you can see my 13-year-old taking care of the table before we leave. Guys, teach your kids to do this, and you’ll do the world a huge favor.
