We went to Banawe last Sunday, not the rice terraces ok? The reason is a story for another day. Anyway, we were so hungry and many restaurants are either full or didn’t have parking. We chanced upon Foong Lan Garden. I remember we watched this in a vlog of a famous Youtuber and he has so many great things to say. So we went ahead.

We ordered of course, the Yang Chow fried rice. A huge plate that’s enough for 4-5 people. Nothing spectacular about it.

A lunch at a Chinese restaurant wouldn’t be complete without Sweet and Sour Fish, right? So we got that.

The chunks of lapu-lapu was huge and it had the crunch we were after. It tasted good, but again, nothing stellar. When eating this dish I’m looking for the right balance of sweet and sour but the scale tipped heavily on the sweet so it’s a no for me.
We also ordered Buttered Chicken which was excellent. But I guess, you can never go wrong with Buttered Chicken, right? This dish kind of compensated for the rest. So at least, it wasn’t such a bad experience overall.

We also ordered Spareribs, Xiaolongbao, and Sharks Fin.

I was expecting the Spareribs to be the brownish and sticky type. But it looked different. Though, I have to say, it tasted good.

The Xiaolongbao came with a dipping sauce which I didn’t like cause I preferred the Soymansi with chili.

The Sharks fin was good because it’s loaded with kinchay. I liked it

This arrived at our table, we didn’t order it. But I only realized it after I got a spoonful. I think it was Braised Beef. It’s a good thing we didn’t order it because it tasted nothing like Braised Beef. It doesn’t taste good at all. We returned it.
Overall, since we were really hungry and the food managed to make our stomachs a tad happier, I can say it was an average experience. But something I would never repeat again. The dining hall was so noisy we can’t hear our own voices. Along with the music, the voices of the staff talking loudly among themselves and one staff drying the dishes carelessly ( with the stoneware banging against each other noisily). It was not a pleasant ambiance at all. I hope they improve their service and the taste of their food.
And food vloggers, I hope you guys be honest with your reviews. Peace out.
