Tatay’s Giant Mangoes

Around three years ago, Tatay planted mango seedlings in his small garden, and today we’re enjoying the fruits of his labor (literally!)

The mangoes are large and can weigh up to 1 kg each. Upon measuring the fruit, it’s 7 inches in length. Tatay harvested all the mangoes in one of his trees this week, and they’re some of the best I have tasted! They’re called Catimon mangoes; they’re known for their sweet flavor and have a sugar content of around

d 20%, higher than many other types of mangoes. They have a creamy texture that is similar to that of a peach. They are not as fibrous as some different types of mangoes, making them a good choice for eating fresh.

Catimon mangoes are a good source of vitamins A, C, and E. These vitamins are essential for maintaining a healthy immune system, skin, and eyes. They’re also a good source of fiber, which is vital for digestive health and can help to regulate blood sugar levels.

Surprisingly Catimon mangoes are low in calories. They are a good choice for people trying to lose or maintain a healthy weight.

Here are some photos of the mango beside the regular mangoes; see how huge they are!

One mango my sister weighed reached 745 grams!

And it’s as big as my nephew’s head, lol

And almost the entire length of his brother’s arm!
